WHITE VILLAGES OF ANDALUCÍA

Highlights

Sanlúcar de Barrameda

Located at the Guadalquivir river estuary and in front of Doñana National Park, Sanlúcar de Barrameda is a stately city, declared Cultural Historical-artistic site in 1973, divided in two great areas: Barrio Alto and Barrio Bajo. Barrio Alto is its historical and monumental core, with narrow streets, white facades, aristocratic palaces, remains of the medieval wall, convents, churches and the Santiago Castle (15th century). Bajo de Guía, the fishermen quarter, is full of restaurants where you can enjoy the popular Tapas and taste the popular prawns, pescaítos and sailor's stews.

Cádiz

Cádiz means sea, history and joy. La Tacita de Plata, (Little silver cup) as it is known, is considered one of the oldest western european cities, home of phoenicians, carthaginians, romans and moors.

Doñana National Park

Doñana National Park is home of an ecosystem mosaic, with a unique biodiversity in Europe. Its extraordinary wetlands are used as crossing point, breeding habitat and shelter by thousands of european and african bird species. Some of its resident species are unique and in great danger of extinction, like the spanish imperial eagle or the iberian linx.

Sevilla

Visitors fall in love with Sevilla because of its mix of beautyness and feelings. Its monuments, like the Gothic Cathedral or the Torre del Oro (Tower of gold), welcome travellers to one of the biggest old quarters in Europe. The nature of the city, traditional but modern, joyful and funny, religious but cosmopolitan, is a good mirror of andalucian culture.

White villages

Arcos de la Frontera, Ubrique and Grazalema are 3 of the most outstanding among the popular White Villages. Promenading in its narrow white streets, visiting the handicraft shops or just enjoying the views, is a delightful experience.

Tarifa & Algeciras

Tarifa is the southernmost city in Europe, with 38 km of beaches and dunes bathed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Algeciras is of the most important ports in Europe and a link with Africa.

Jerez

Jerez is one of the most iconic cities in Andalucia. It's known for flamenco art and wine, thanks to the renowned Jerez appellation of origin. At the world-famous Fundación Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre (Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation), we will enjoy the show "Cómo bailan los caballos andaluces" (How andalusian horses dance).
