Salt mines of Cardona
The Salt Mountain of Cardona is a unique natural phenomenon. Its 120 meters of height hide 2 km of depth. Active between 1929 and 1990, it was considered among the most important potassium salt mines in the world.
The visit includes a guided itinerary inside spectacular galleries of the Salt Mountain, at 86 meters in depth; a walk around the old mining facilities, now transformed in a museum area; entry to the machinery building of the mining pit, which hosts an industrial archaeological gem from the 20s and photography exposition; and the Salt Craft Center.
The Magical World of Trains
The Magical World of Trains is dedicated to the train collecting hobby and model-making. It's a venue for all ages, with locomotives and train cars in gauge HO (1:87) and other pieces in gauge 1 (1:32).
The museum is placed in a 3 story building of 1000m2: the ground floor hosts a great collection of trains, including 750 locomotives and 3.500 passenger and freight cars; the first floor has a 250m2 gauge HO layout, the most magical and amazing part of this railway center; the second floor is under construction and it will be open soon, hosting private gauge 1 train collections.
